A little about Me . . .Welcome to my landing page! My name is Mike Royal and I'm a Senior Technology Recruiter. I've been with MATRIX for the past 12+ years and have over 18 years of IT Recruiting experience in the Atlanta, GA market. I've had the good fortune to place over 1,000 IT Professionals in all facets of the Information Technology sector - and more importantly, in the right positions. As to me, I have a wonderful wife and a really smart eight year old son (I had always assumed that it would be the 7th or 8th grade when his school work surpassed my knowledge level - never realized that it would happen by 3rd grade). My hobbies are golf, fly fishing and losing at Mario Kart to my son. Keys to Applying online for a Job
Ever wonder why you don't get a call back when you submit your resume for a position? Follow these keys and you'll get better results:
- Make sure your resume matches the job description. A job description is telling you what to highlight in your resume.
- A Technical resume needs to be written where both technical and non-technical types understand it - don't assume they understand the technology - it might be a non-technical HR type that initially screens the resume and decides which resumes go to the hiring manager.
- Think "buzz" words. Those technical tools, duties and responsibilities that people look for in the resume. And, understand that when someone is doing a search, they're entering a string of key skills to come up with a list of candidates. Whose resume gets seen first? The one that has those "buzz" words mentioned the most times in their resume.
